The ARIONHUB app has a feature called ‘Shoe Recommendation’. After conducting the first analysis with the customer, it is possible to get a shoe recommendation based on the analysis of the customer. This article will tell you which types of shoe recommendations there are and how to use them.

Watch our ARION ACADEMY videos on how to use the feature.

Type of shoe recommendations

There are two types of shoe recommendations, these shoe recommendation types are related to the badges system:

  • Performance shoe: A shoe that can help with running efficiency. For example, running a personal best or increasing time.

  • Safety shoe: A shoe that can help with injury prevention. For example, less loading on certain body parts to avoid potential injuries.

You can click on the ‘recommend me' button when in the analysis screen, on the right beneath the ‘add session’ button. Another screen will show the shoe recommendation for this specific customer.

Performance

The first shoe to pop up will be the efficiency shoe. There are three types of technology that we consider when recommending an efficiency shoe, which are the following:

  • Stack height: Stack height refers to the thickness of the midsole, the material between your feet and the ground. Stack height is measured on four levels: low, medium, medium-high and high.

  • Heel-toe drop: The heel-toe drop is the difference between the height of the mid-sole at the heel of the shoe, and the height at the toe of the shoe, i.e. the amount of height drop between heel and toe. Heel-toe drop is measured on three different levels: low, medium and high.

  • Stiffness: The stiffness refers to how stiff or soft the sole of the shoe is, i.e. the material between your feet and the ground. Stiffness is measured on four different levels: soft, medium soft, firm and carbon plate.

You can find the corresponding level of the specific customer beneath the shoe. You can click on the technology to see the different levels and/or to see where the technology is based on the shoe.

Safety

On the right side of the screen, you can switch between the efficiency shoe and the safety shoe. The safety shoe has also three types of technology that we take into account when recommending a shoe, which are the following:

  • Stack height: Stack height: Stack height refers to the thickness of the midsole, the material between your feet and the ground.

  • Support: Support indicates how much support the shoe gives the runner. Support is measured on three different levels: none, light and heavy.

Once you’ve read through the recommendation and found a running shoe from your stock that would fit the customer well, easily click on the ‘scan shoe’ part underneath the recommendation. Here you will then scan the barcode, select the type of running mode and start the session. You can use the shoe recommendation option as much as you would like to. However, this is optional and you can also click on ‘add session’ to proceed as normal.

The next shoe recommended will be visible for every session you’ve done after the previous one and will be based on the previous sessions that the customer has done.
